The concept behind this website is to be able to facilitate the interaction between tradesmen and clients within the residential market that require their specialized needs. The concept is a platform that creates an open bid system where customers can upload the specifications of the required services that need to be carried out and these will be then made available to the relevant tradesmen who will then upload their quotations onto the platform which then is sent to the client for selection. The client then can source the services directly from the relevant party and then give a feedback with regards to services and ratings.

Home Page

The homepage needs to have a simple user friendly look and feel also colourful and warm with standard options like home, about, contact details, learn also illustrating all the services that are able to be provided to potential users and also the benefits that are derived for the usage of this kind of services, the page must also have two separate sub pages one for contractors detailing the benefits and the registration process, and the other subpage must be the path for customers wishing to use the platform the benefits and the registration process.

1. Guidelines for compiling specifications for relevant trades to provide accurate information for tradesmen to give a quotation that is as close to the needs that the client is trying to express, we say trying because exact specifications of work that had to be carried out is the knowledge possessed by the tradesmen.
   • What will be needed I.e measuring tape for measuring dimensions to draw a diagram take pictures upload as much detailed information as possible also being able to supply pictures and illustrations of what they desire from Instagram and Pinterest.
   • We propose to list 20 different trades therefore under each category on the client interface/webpage 20 different guidelines must be present under each category of trade.
2. Customer should have options to upload images, PDF documents, word documents.
3. Customer details will be kept confidential from Contractors.
4. When customers submit specifications, it will be made available to tradesmen registered with the service.
5. Customer can specify trade and timeframe required to receive quotation.
6. Customers can then select the contractor they prefer so that the system upon completion of the job will allow the customer to rate the contractor. (no indiscriminate ratings can just be made about contractors).
7. Making things easier in time to come drop Down options can be given to clients under certain trades so that the collation of information can be made easier for tradesmen.
   • I.e drop down menu options for electrical:
     • Plug points (single, double, customized)
     • Light switch (single, double, Triple lever)
     • Lights (interior, exterior, type of lights)
     • (This is for future consideration)

Contractor Profile Interface

1. Interface should have an inbox look where the system will send requests from clients as an inbox. Contractor can respond in a form of email with documents attached or not even an email response just an upload button for pdf.
2. Possible to respond with an automated response for clarity on specific specifications.
3. When a client accepted a quotation from contractor the contractor must initiate the process by accepting the email therefore the customer cannot rate a contractor without the contractor accepting the job card on their interface.
4. Interface should be able to have a two to three spaces for advertising from power tool and hardware suppliers or industry specific advertisements.
5. Interface should have page for uploading advertisements and specials that can be sent out to clients or appear as advertisements on the customer profile (this option will be charged as an add on service)
